IMMIGRATION: MARONI, NEW ICE IN THE NEW YEAR BY 4 REGIONS
AD MINISTER CENTERS IN Veneto, Tuscany, Marche and Campania
(ANSA) - ROMA, 26 May 2010
By the end of the year will start work on the construction of four new
Identification and Expulsion Centres (CIE) in Veneto,
Tuscany, Marche and Campania. This was announced by Interior Minister Roberto Maroni
during question time in the House, noting that
the government's target is to achieve a
Cie in every Italian region by the end of the term. For a suitable contrast
illegal immigration, said Maroni, "we need to strengthen
Cie.
Today there are 13 in 9 regions, with 1,811 seats," and that "
are insufficient to manage the operation of contrast" . So, has continued
Maroni, "we will begin construction later this year"
in the four regions.
"We have already identified the areas around airports, in
abandoned structures that need to be restructured. In the coming days - ended
holder of the interior ministry - will meet the presidents of the four regions, to define
with them our proposals and decide the most appropriate site. "

The Tuscany Region, to date, thanks to the commitment and
joint action of the Associations and Local Authorities is also
symbolically, a land free from Centers for
took place and deprived of liberty for men, women and sometimes children, without
the purposes and guarantees enshrined in Article 13
of the Italian Constitution.
We are very alarmed by the non-uniqueness of the statements of President
Region to the claim of the Minister of the Interior to establish
also in Tuscany
Identification and Expulsion Centres and then ask the institutional representatives of the territory
not to accept charges, who can only find
once again, our more lively opposition.
